Meet Nicolette
(Your SLP, your strategy person, and yes—the one actually answering your emails)
Around here, there’s no big team, no layers, no hand-offs—just me, fully invested in every client I work with. And honestly? I like it that way.
I’ve known from a young age that I wanted to help people communicate, connect, and feel confident in how they move through the world. Today, as a Speech-Language Pathologist based in Belmar, New Jersey, I get to do exactly that—working with children, teens, and adults across speech, language, literacy, executive function, and feeding.
My Background (aka I didn’t just wake up and do this)
I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Maryland, where I was deeply involved in research and leadership—serving on faculty committees and presenting work on transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS) and aphasia.
Since then, I’ve continued to invest heavily in advanced training (because if I’m working with your family, we’re doing this right). I’ve been recognized nationally with the ASHA Distinguished Early Career Professional Award and am a two-time recipient of the ACE Award, completing over 140+ hours of continued education.
My work is comprehensive, integrative, and tailored—because no two clients are the same, and cookie-cutter therapy just isn’t it.
I bring advanced training across multiple specialty areas, including:
Motor Speech, Oral Motor & Feeding
PROMPT, DTTC, Oral Placement Therapy, Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, and lactation-informed care, along with integrative supports like photobiomodulation (low-level laser therapy) to support neuromuscular function.
Voice & Neurological Rehabilitation
Certified in LSVT LOUD, supporting individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other voice-related challenges.
Structured Literacy & Learning Differences
Highly specialized in Orton-Gillingham and speech-to-print approaches, supporting students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and language-based learning disabilities through explicit, evidence-based instruction that integrates phonology, morphology, and executive function.
Executive Function Coaching
Direct coaching for students and adults targeting planning, organization, working memory, task initiation, and follow-through—using real-life systems that actually work (not just look good on paper).
AAC (Augmentative & Alternative Communication)
Comprehensive AAC evaluation, implementation, and training across systems—because communication should always be accessible.
Holistic & Integrative Therapy
I incorporate breathwork, sensory regulation strategies, neuro-affirming practices, and whole-body approaches to support communication and cognitive-linguistic development from a full-person perspective.
What Makes My Approach Different
Because I get it—from both sides.
As a full-time school-based SLP, I’ve participated in thousands of IEP meetings across New Jersey. I understand the system, the timelines, and the nuances—and I help families navigate it without the overwhelm.
You get me for the big moments—
the formal IEP meetings, the tough conversations, the decisions that matter.
And yes… you get me for the 3am spiral too, when something just doesn’t feel right and you need clarity, not more confusion.
Whether it’s private therapy, executive function coaching, literacy intervention, or IEP consulting, my goal is always the same:
real progress, real strategies, and real carryover into daily life.
Why Families Work With Me
When I’m not working with clients, I’m:
Directing the Belmar Junior Lifeguard Program
Training first responders and community members through AAC on the Beach
Creating resources for families, clinicians, and educators
Probably shipping materials, answering emails, and running the behind-the-scenes of a one-woman business
Cooking up a storm (because balance)
And most likely deep in a rabbit hole learning about AI, new therapy approaches, or anything that makes me better at what I do
Beyond the Therapy Room
The Bottom Line
This isn’t a big-box practice.
This is boutique, personalized, and intentionally designed.
It’s me—showing up, knowing your child, teen, or loved one understanding your goals, and genuinely caring about the outcome.
Because I truly love what I do… and the people I get to do it with.
